If your Facebook account is still visible after you’ve deactivated it, it’s possible that the deactivation wasn’t fully processed, or there may be a delay in updating visibility. Here’s what you can do:
—
Steps to Ensure Deactivation is Complete:
1. Check Your Deactivation Status:
Log back into your account to confirm it is deactivated.
Go to Settings & Privacy > Settings > Account Settings > Account Ownership and Control > Deactivation and Deletion.
Ensure you selected “Deactivate Account” and completed all steps in the process.
2. Clear Cached Data:
Sometimes, your profile may still appear in search results temporarily due to cached data.
It can take a few hours or days for Facebook’s servers to update and for your account to disappear completely.
3. Verify on Search Engines:
If your profile appears on Google or other search engines, it might be due to previous indexing.
Use Facebook’s privacy settings to adjust search engine visibility:
Go to Settings > Privacy > Do you want search engines outside of Facebook to link to your profile? and set it to No.
Alternatively, contact search engines to request the removal of outdated links.
4. Remove Active Sessions:
Go to Settings & Privacy > Settings > Security and Login and log out of all active sessions to ensure no one accidentally reactivates your account.
5. Manually Deactivate Related Accounts:
If you use Facebook to log into other services (e.g., Instagram, apps, or websites), logging into those services might reactivate your Facebook account. Check and deactivate these connections.

If the Issue Persists:
Contact Facebook Support:
Report the issue directly to Facebook:
Go to Help Center and select Report a Problem.
Provide details about your deactivation issue.
Double-Check Deactivation Timing:
Facebook may take up to 24–48 hours to process and fully hide your account from others.
